Parker macdonnell and friends (jan. 19th, 2013 @ 10 pm)
About parkerParker MacDonell is a singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist with Ohio roots and California influences. His original songs reveal influences by the great singer/songwriters of the 70’s. With his friends Phil Maneri on bass, John Bellas on drums and Matt Michalski on guitar, he sings a wide variety of songs that are soothing, moving, rocking and funny – but not all at the same time!
He released his third recording, The Present Tense, in August 2012 to an SRO audience at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington. This show at Natalie’s will be his next public appearance. Parker has also been appearing in Columbus as a member of Captain Morgan & the Pep Boys for the past five years. When he was young and thin, Parker spent nine years in Los Angeles. He played bass for Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley, opened for Mary Travers and Air Supply, and toured college campuses across the US in support of his first two records, Home to the Heart and Looking For You. Parker co-founded Six String Concerts after moving to Columbus in 1987. He also co-founded Writer Zone Music Publishing in Nashville and is a member of the board of the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington.
