Anyone can be entrepreneurial anywhere
Den Ohio's Series of Featured Speakers At Great Venues IN The Columbus Area
Everyone wants to be happy. Research in the field of Positive Psychology over the past 20 years reveals that happiness is dependent on certain skills and surprisingly those same skills lead to success in most any field of endeavor, including both entrepreneurship and leadership. Doug Smith (Tuck ‘70) has been a student of leadership and happiness for several years and now speaks around the country on these topics to raise money for cancer research. Doug will share a set of skills that enable people to live with serenity about the past, confidence in the future and to live in the present with joy and exuberance (in other words to live happily) and then tie these same skills back to leadership. Before embarking on his most recent journeyDoug had a successful career in business, serving as the leader of three different food businesses before retiring to teach and consult in 2010. He teaches a winter term course “The Science and Skill of Happiness” at DePauw University.

Economists are calling this the jobless recovery. Economists Bryan Jordan and Catalina Gorla will be facilitating a riveting conversation with Tuck Business School Professor, Gregg Fairbothers, asking the tough questions about the weakening link between our education system and our economy.
- Is there are mismatch between the education colleges and universities are providing and the skills the economy demands?
- Has college education been oversold?
- Can we (should we?) offer incentives to students to learn those skills most in demand?
- Should the traditional university education be considered a luxury?
